Bus manufacturer Otokar will present its new electric midibus called e-Centro for the first time in Latvia. It will be on display at the international automotive exhibition “Auto 23” in Riga from 28-30 April. The e-Centro will have a 110 kWh battery pack, will seat 32 passengers and will measure 6.6 m long, 2.45 m wide and 2.86 m high.

QUIET AND ECO-FRIENDLY
Otokar’s 100% emission-free electric midibus e-CENTRO is especially suited for urban traffic. It is available in two lengths – 6 and 6.6 metres – which ensure high manoeuvrability. Compact size makes it an environmentally friendly and convenient solution for urban historic districts or tourist areas with narrow streets and zero-emission zones. Thanks to an electric motor with a maximum power of 200 kW and a maximum torque of 1200 Nm, the e-CENTRO has excellent performance on steeper streets.
The bus also stands out for its lightness, with a gross vehicle weight (GVW) of 7,000 kg, and therefore low running costs. e-CENTRO’s 110 kW Li-ion NMC batteries can be fully charged in just 1.5 hours and can travel 200 km on a single charge. In addition, the regenerative braking function recovers up to 25 percent of the energy from braking and deceleration in urban traffic.
COMFORT
Midibus users can choose a suitable solution by assessing the charging infrastructure available in the city. NMC batteries will be available with “fast and slow charging options”, which means that charging is also possible from a private backyard.
Positioning the batteries under the floor creates wide and spacious interior and enables the bus to carry up to 32 passengers. Thanks to its low-floor design, e-CENTRO is easy to board for all passengers, including people with disabilities or young mothers with pushchairs.
SCHOOL AND COMPANY BUS
The E-Centro is suitable for a variety of passenger transport purposes, including transporting schoolchildren in urban traffic. It is suitable for the requirements of the EU project “Purchase of zero-emission vehicles for the implementation of municipal functions and services”.
