The new MAN van in the weight class from 3 to 5.5 tons is suitable for multiple fire service applications due to its range of variants. A completely new diesel engine generation is in operation in the MAN TGE which is characterised by its durability and reliability.
The engines, with their 1,968 cm3 capacity, are offered with 102 hp (75 kW), 122 hp (90 kW), 140 hp (103 kW) and 177 hp (130 kW). Depending on the permissible total weight, front, rear or all-wheel drive options are possible, together with either a 6-speed manually operated gearbox or an 8-speed automatic gearbox.
With the MAN TGE, a crucial aspect in all driving scenarios is safety: the van is equipped with Emergency Brake Assist as standard. This ensures the safety of ambulance service personnel and patients in extreme situations. Furthermore, an extremely comprehensive, optional range of driver assistance systems ensures safety and makes the driver’s tasks easier; they can then concentrate on the traffic and the reactions of other road users when responding to an emergency.
