05.10.2018

On 4 October 2018, the new MAN TGE van was officially unveiled at the Avar Auto MAN Truck & Bus service centre in Jaunmārupe. At the event, customers had the first opportunity to see the passenger version of the MAN TGE in Latvia, recently unveiled at the IAA commercial vehicle trade show in Hannover, and a cargo van with integrated Polyvan isothermal panel insulation and a Carrier refrigeration unit.

The actor Intars Rešetins entertained the guests, musical entertainment was provided by musician Kristaps Cukurs. There were a host of other exciting activities, for example, the attendees could take a photo in front of a TGE and imagine themselves in the place of real professionals. Finally, all the participants enjoyed a delicious cake and were invited for a test drive.

With box-type vans, glazed combi vans and chassis, MAN provides a wide range of TGE cab types. You can choose between two wheelbases, three overhangs and three roof heights. There are single cab and crew cab options available for the chassis. With the corresponding configuration, a maximum payload of 1.5 tonnes is permitted with 3.5-tonners and with box-type vans, a maximum cargo compartment volume of 18.4 cubic metres is permitted. The entry-level vehicle in the MAN TGE series has a permissible gross vehicle weight of 3.0 tonnes. The upper end of the weight class is 5.5 tonnes with a rear axle fitted with twin tyres. The wide variety of variants enables you to be able to choose the drive. Depending on the permissible gross vehicle weight, front-wheel drive, rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive are all possible. When developing engines, the focus was placed on efficiency and robustness. The 1968 cm³ large 4-cylinder diesel engine is available in four power outputs from 102 hp to 177 hp.

Various new safety and comfort features protect passengers and support the driver in the new MAN TGE. These features include a large number of driver assistance systems, for example, the standard Emergency Brake Assist (EBA) and the optional Adaptive Cruise Control. Thanks to efficient fuel consumption and low maintenance and repair costs the new MAN TGE impresses with optimum Total Cost of Ownership (TCO). On top of this is a level of service that covers virtually every conceivable request: ranging from flexible maintenance and repair contracts and warranty extensions to the 24-hour breakdown service with the usual level of business customer focus in terms of flexible workshop appointments and extended opening times.

The new MAN TGE starting price is from 24 000 Eur (with included Emergency Brake Assist (EBA), LED lights in cab, side wind assistant, side sliding doors and other important equipment for user).
